The place is clean, comfortable, and safe, and they let us check in early; Kliphuis restaurant across the road serves lamb shank, and there’s a braai area and stoep. A microwave would be handy for those who don’t braai, and the utensils are very basic.

A nice spot for an overnight stay, and the staff were lovely.

We stayed in unit 5 and it was very pleasant, the only unit with a closed stoep, comfortable chairs, and a dining table. Unfortunately, the toilet had a problem and the cold tap wouldn’t turn on; we reported this to the manager.

The lodge is very nice and quiet, the room has everything needed for a comfortable stay, and the shower delivers piping hot water. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Their little dog Kraunus is friendly and loves to play. A short walk brings you to Ye Olde Shoppe for tea and superb chocolate cake, and right beside the hotel there’s a very good menu. The ambience is superb.
