“More than rustic...read before reserving”

The host was nice and responsive, and the setting was a pleasant wooded area. However, the listing was misleading: there is no cell service, no water, and no electricity; only a gas stove and a few battery‑powered lights provide minimal illumination. I learned this only a couple of days before arrival. The last half kilometre of road was a very bad, steep dirt road; our rental car’s tires skidded multiple times trying to climb the hill and avoid large rocks, and the car bottomed out twice when entering or exiting the driveway. A 4‑wheel drive with higher clearance would have helped, but the gate’s tight turn makes larger cars difficult. My wife has asthma, and when we entered the cabin there was mildew and dust that immediately triggered her symptoms and irritated my throat within half an hour. We had to leave immediately and find another place to stay. We forfeited the money for the three nights we had booked, and the owner offered no partial refund. It felt more like camping than a home stay.

Ideal for those looking for adventure and especially for escaping the bustle of urban areas; the owner was very attentive, and the place was comfortable and pretty.
