“Great because it was out of season”
We arrived in the dark on a hillside side, checked in swiftly, and headed straight to the restaurant for a glass of wine. The room was lovely, featuring a massive cozy fire in the center that was on because it was chilly, a comfy bed, and a balcony to sit out on. Breakfast was the highlight, with plenty of options—juices, waffles, meats, cheeses, muesli, breads, eggs, and a glass of prosecco. The terrace at the back of Mondi was a nice suntrap, perfect for an après‑walk even though it’s not ski season yet. What we didn’t like was paying 23 euros a night for the dog to stay, the most we’ve ever paid anywhere; this should be listed in the hotel details so guests aren’t shocked, and it’s too late to cancel.
