I was pleased with the hotel's location in the Thuringian Forest, which was a bit outside of Ilmenau. The initial greeting was brief but friendly, and it turned out that one person was responsible for handling everything. However, the hotel rooms were a bit outdated, and it was unusual that we were only provided with a single small bar of soap.
