The rooms were huge with views of the town of oyu onsen, and the outdoor onsen was spacious and atmospheric; dinner was multi‑course kaiseki with vegetarian options, and the staff were very friendly. The spot was ideal for visiting Lake Towada and Hachimantai National Parks, making it the best hotel on our trip. However, the air‑conditioner shut itself off before cooling the room and the windows were required to stay shut, the fire alarm was tested in town every morning at 7am and the bear‑scare rattles ran through the night, and every evening at 6.00 pm a tourist bus dropped off a new group of foreign guests, so you have to schedule onsen use around the noisy crowds.

The view was wide and the environment was peaceful. The bathroom was old and should be renovated.

What a wonderful hotel – it truly felt like a trip through time without the inconveniences of the “old.” Incredibly clean and the service was incredible; the hotel keeps the allure of past glories. The onsen was fantastic, especially the outdoor one under the rain. I really hope to come back very soon! Thank you :)
