The place is in a great spot, very quiet and peaceful, making it a solid base for a Mt Agung adventure. The local restaurant (Delicious Kitchen) down the road was excellent, and the local D.O.C Cafe was reliable, friendly, cheap, and had good food.

Staying at Besakih Homestay & Villa was simply perfect. For the price I paid, you get extraordinary comfort. The room was very spacious, as was the large bathroom. I was especially thrilled by the beautiful balcony with a breathtaking view of the majestic Gunung Agung. I chose this place to climb Gunung Agung, and it was the ideal starting point. The whole property is lovingly designed – a successful blend of traditional bamboo style and modern comfort. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and warm. There is no air‑conditioning, but at an altitude of about 1,000 m that’s no problem. The climate is pleasantly cool, especially at night, so you sleep wonderfully. The view is spectacular, and the atmosphere is quiet, idyllic, and relaxing. I especially recommend this place to couples on honeymoon, families for a restful holiday, or hikers who want to climb Gunung Agung. The 3,142‑meter Gunung Agung, Bali’s highest active volcano, was unforgettable for me. Combined with this wonderful homestay, the trip became something special. Thank you for the hospitality – I’ll gladly come back! ❤️🏔️🌿

The staff were very responsive to our requests and always friendly. We got a scooter within 10 minutes after asking, and there’s a great restaurant right next door. It’s about an hour from Mt Batur and right next to the Besakih temple, so the location is great. Breakfast isn’t included, but a few Gojek drivers deliver food, and they know a nearby restaurant that can also deliver. The view of the forest and Mt Agung is beautiful, and the place is calm and relaxing. The room and bathroom were clean. Thanks for the hospitality!

The cabins are beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The shower bath lacks ventilation and water pools on the floor. There is no permanent staff; the owner only receives messages and calls and sends someone on time. So the place didn’t feel welcoming. The views of Mt Agung and the gorge are wonderful and can be enjoyed from the garden. The shared kitchen is very basic.

The view was superb. I’m used to seeing cockroaches at work, but seeing one fall from the ceiling of our room and land on us was a different story. The small fan was powerless against the heat. Even though all that was secondary, my priority was my clothes. We had requested a washing machine, but when we returned our clothes we found our white t‑shirts covered in yellow stains, as if they had been soaked in bleach. Now each of us has a pair of yellow‑stained white t‑shirts.
