“Lovely hotel. Breakfast above average. Staff friendly.”

The staff were friendly and the location was good, but I was asked to move rooms after paying £1050 for a single person in a tiny room that had an air‑conditioning unit stuck outside the window. The noise from the unit was a hell of a lot louder than I expected. I requested a room change, and the staff complied without issue. In the new room the hairdryer didn’t work, so I had to borrow one from reception. The air‑conditioning behaved oddly, sometimes running on low or not at all. I mentioned the problem to the cleaning staff and reception, but nothing changed. I didn’t want to keep packing and moving rooms, so I just endured it.

“A comfirtable stay with great additional swiming areas, we room disappointed.”

Room was a reasonable size that allowed 2 full suitcases easily. Santana is well located to St Paul's Bay with good parking and easy accessto other parts of Malta. Included breakfast was filling and good tasting. When we arrived we were given a ground floor Comfort room - it states city view, which is not 100% correct - we certainly could see across the street into apartments, however people walking past could look into our room so we had to have curtains most of the time closed. I asked to move off ground floor and answer was no rooms available so stay where you are - come back on checkout morning, which we did. We really liked higher floor apartments as we have in the past. On departure day I requested an extra hour (done with other hotels with no issues) and advised it would be 20 euro. Pool deck rennovation is very good with three different pool options

“Lovely destination poor hotel overall”

Nice breakfast lounge with a good selection of well‑cooked food; the bar and breakfast hall staff are friendly. Really poor management and attitude toward guests. We had air‑conditioner leaks on the floor for 5/7 days without resolution. We had a leaking shower without resolution. When we booked the hotel it included a gym in the facility on the 7th floor, but when we arrived it was not open or finished. I booked the hotel knowing I would be recovering from a hip operation and in the middle of a rehab regime; I could not exercise daily. There was no warning that this facility would not be open prior to my arrival. We were awoken most mornings at 0730 by drilling and sanding noises from works on floor 7. Not a happy bunny. I use booking. Com a lot if this isn’t resolved I will be taking this further.

I was really upset that I felt cheated: we were given a room that was advertised as a “family apartment” with a bedroom and a separate living area, but it turned out to be a studio apartment with just one open space. We mentioned this to reception, yet they refused to give us a room that matched the ad. Later, they replaced the misleading photo with one that shows the true layout, but that only reveals how the hotel operates. Overall, I don’t recommend Malta to anyone—dirty, smelly, cramped, with construction dust everywhere. Malta feels more like a Balkan or African destination than a European one. It was the worst vacation of my life!
