The spot is spot‑on for hitting Boipéba’s beaches – you can stroll or hop on a bus just a couple of minutes away. The staff were friendly, the shared kitchen let us cook, and the host was flexible and easygoing, even handing us an electric mosquito racket that saved the night. The only downside was the walk to the city centre, which took about ten minutes.

Being right next to the tractor dock made getting to and from the beaches a breeze, and the à‑la‑carte breakfast was surprisingly tasty. Guedes was on the ball, moving breakfast earlier so we could head out early and always had local tips ready. On the flip side, a few details didn’t match the listing – an extra card fee showed up at checkout and the advertised checkout time was 11:30 but we were told 11:00 on departure. Also, the area is swarmed with mosquitoes, so bring repellent.

The owner was attentive and ready to help whenever we needed something. Unfortunately, the room didn’t live up to the price – the windows wouldn’t close, letting a swarm of mosquitoes in and rendering the net useless, the bed was uncomfortable with no clean linens, and the Wi‑Fi was spotty at best. Add to that a location that feels remote if you’re not familiar with Boipéba, and the whole stay felt overpriced.

I loved the quiet vibe here and the host’s quick response – he even threw in a free breakfast and sorted any issue fast. It’s a short walk from the tractor service and the beach trail, and while it’s a little outside the centre, the stroll is pleasant. Just remember the island sun can be intense, so bring a fan or AC and a mosquito net; Guedes has both available.
