The room was decent with a superb view of the rice paddies. The accommodation was clean overall. Breakfast and dinner were delicious! The hosts were very available; they arranged our airport transfer at a very reasonable price and then handled our tuk‑tuk transfer to our next lodging. Bikes were also available for rent to visit Polonnaruwa.

Conveniently located with a view of the rice paddies—room clean and efficient with great value. The excursions and other activities offered by the owner are pricier than usual, which is a bit disappointing.

A beautiful room with a lovely view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Air conditioning was available. The owners were very friendly! It was the perfect base to visit temples. We were taken by tuk‑tuk from the location past several temples we wanted to see. In the evening we had a delightful meal, which was prepared for the owner. The next morning they took us to our next destination. Excellent price‑quality ratio.

“A delightful family run small hotel in a great location and with charming hosts.”

The Man Guest is a family‑run hotel where the family members are very welcoming and hospitable. Our host cooked two of the most delicious meals we’ve had in three weeks of touring Sri Lanka, and the breakfasts were equally tasty and very reasonably priced. The hotel’s location is great for visiting the archaeological museum and ruins, which we thoroughly enjoyed on bikes rented from the hotel. We spent an evening on a lake safari, watching elephants and a beautiful sunset. They arranged a car transfer to our next destination for the same price as Pick Me and accompanied us on the journey. We highly recommend this friendly hotel.
