The old house was lovely and right in the centre of town, and the parking was great. The bed was uncomfortable, breakfast wasn’t included, and I wasn’t aware that I’d have to put a £100 damage bond on my card.

I booked four rooms for my staff, but they were unhappy because they didn’t know about the £100 credit‑card guarantee per room, a detail I didn’t see when I booked and would have preferred to provide card details to avoid this hassle.

The location was great, the room was spacious, and it was close to the train station and bus stops. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a seating area. The facilities were clean. The room didn’t have a fridge, and although the freshly renovated bathroom was large with a huge bath, the shower cubicle was a bit small.

The staff were great, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern. Because the property is old, there’s not much that can be improved in the rooms; the floors were uneven and creaked, so it wasn’t quiet when I went to the bathroom at night. We don’t blame anyone for that.

I arrived at 2100hrs and left at 0800hrs the next day, so it’s hard to give a full review. The staff were excellent, I’d booked the smallest room because I was just there to sleep and move on, and the building itself is beautiful.
