The location is perfect and close to the metro. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, and the place is clean. However, there’s no elevator and the stairs are steep, so it’s not suitable for everyone.

I stayed in a small double‑bed apartment that was perfectly positioned in Gion, giving me everything I needed for a week. It’s a short walk to Pontocho and close to several subway and bus lines, plus a 7‑11 not far away. The bathroom is spacious and one of the best I’ve seen on my trip to Japan. The mattress was decent, though it could use a bit of improvement. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions. The downside was the lack of soundproofing; the apartment faces a main street with heavy traffic, so I could hear cars all day and the curtains didn’t block the morning light, waking me up at 5 am. I ended up using earplugs and a sleep mask. There’s no elevator, so the stairs are a bit of a hassle with luggage.

The location is close to the metro and in a lively neighborhood, yet the hotel itself sits on a very quiet street.

The place is amazing, the staff are incredibly kind, the rooms are clean, typical, and comfortable. I’d definitely come back! It even surpassed our expectations. The only downside was that our room faced a noisy street, but the windows provided good sound insulation.
