“Paradiso in Agosto”
The location is beautiful and the staff are great. The new room is truly unique with a sea‑view shower! The kitchen needs improvement and some parts of the resort should be refreshed.

We had an exceptionally positive experience at Gangga. As a family of three (including a 12‑year‑old boy) we finished our open‑water certification there, and everyone was professional and warm. Instructor Johan is very experienced and a fantastic teacher and diver. The German lady (Ange?) at the dive center was very warm and helpful – they became family during the five days we were there! The resort has been renovated after corona and is being updated. Our bungalow (number 2) was brand new and simply beautiful, as were the grounds, the large pool and the main house. The food was very good, with a menu to choose from for lunch and dinner, and all staff were absolutely lovely. The manager is an Indonesian lady who really cared and ensured everyone did their best. We are very glad we experienced this resort and the quality of the dive center here and would love to return. Thank you!

The diving centre is perfect for both service and equipment, plus the welcome is great. The staff are poorly trained, the kitchen isn’t suitable for vegetarians or vegans, and overall there’s little variety.

Everything was fantastic. Nothing to complain about.

The team, especially the restaurant and front desk staff, were incredibly friendly and even got up at 3 am so we could watch the match on the big screen; the resort sits quietly right on the beach with a beautiful coral reef that you can snorkel from the shore, but only at high tide and you have to watch out for strong currents at certain times. The beachfront bungalows are spacious and comfortable, offering stunning sea views and the silhouettes of extinct volcano craters, while the dive centre provides excellent Nitrox dives at no extra charge, with a variety of sites – caves, macro spots and walls – about a 25‑minute boat ride away, and full‑day trips to Lembeh and Bunaken (minimum four people). Wi‑Fi works flawlessly across the whole property and I’ll definitely return. On the downside, the Indonesian food selection was rather limited despite the region’s great cuisine, the beach needs daily cleaning because tides constantly bring plastic debris (the management has now taken steps to address this), and the transfer to and from Manado is pricey and charged per passenger rather than per vehicle.
