The Paddock Glamping

“Avoid this place at all costs.”

Nothing good. It was awful. When I arrived at the glamping site it was completely disgusting: the bedding hadn’t been changed from the previous guests, the floor was dirty, and overall it was not in a fit state to stay in. We were over 3 hours from home and had to find a pet‑friendly place last minute, which was very stressful. I was not happy at all, and when I contacted the host they said our booking should never have happened, messed up, offered no help, assistance, or advice, and never apologized. I asked them to sort out my refund and they blocked my number. Avoid this place at all costs.

“A little bit disappointed!”

The location was great for a wedding, but the grass was far too long, the ground was uneven, and there was no bathroom—only a toilet cubicle!

“Disgrace”

I paid £200 for the weekend, but my wife and I were blindsided by the couple of good reviews—if I’d listened to the bad ones I’d have avoided this place. We’re rough campers and glampers, but the conditions were rougher than we imagined. After only one night we left, and the fact that this is still listed on their website is disgraceful. The bed sheets were dirty, with stains and dust, and I’m not even sure if they were washed before we arrived. There were no washing facilities, just one tap that trickles water from a bowser. The site was covered in nettles and weeds, and where there were no weeds there was dust and muck. It was a very poorly kept place, which is a shame because with some love and attention it could have been nice. The toilet was a portaloo that reeked of urine; even as a builder I wouldn’t have used it, let alone let my wife in it. A collapsed yurt was left by the owner, showing no care for customer quality or safety. This god‑forsaken place should be removed, and the chance of getting a refund is zero, which infuriates me that they took my money. Avoid at all costs.

“Terrible, had to leave the site.”

It was so bad we couldn’t stay or sleep there. This was by far the worst glamping experience we’ve ever had. The site was in an appalling state and felt completely neglected. The bed linen hadn’t been changed – it was visibly soiled with hair, blood stains, and even bird droppings. The floor had brown water patches and was infested with insects. Cups were dirty, and basic amenities like electricity and proper washing facilities were non‑existent. There was no working shower; instead, a single water tap next to a portaloo was expected to serve as a “washing station”—completely lacking privacy or even basic hygiene, let alone warm water. The portaloo itself was overused, unhygienic, and reeking, with bodily fluids present in the flushing water. The advertised BBQ cooking station was unusable—rusted, filthy, and caked with burnt fat. We tried to contact the owners via phone and email, but received no response at all. We rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was not only disappointing, it felt unsafe and unsanitary. This place should not be advertised as glamping—it’s an outright health hazard.

It was a lot more rustic than anticipated. No washrooms, just one portaloo for three glamping tents! We didn’t end up staying. It wasn’t suitable for us because we had an evening wedding reception to go to and needed to shower, etc.
