Penzion Zelená Žába

The accommodation was really good in Pardubice, a large room with everything you need, parking and a fantastic, very cultured pub downstairs with tank Plzeň and a great menu at reasonable prices… I’d never given 10/10 before, but today I gave 100/100 😎👌

The staff are always absolutely professional and friendly. They cook luxuriously! So don’t look for a place to have dinner after arrival, you’ll stay on the same floor in Žába. :) The breakfasts are ultra-nutritious. Bread of many kinds, hot dishes freshly cooked (bacha, those eggs with bacon are a portion for two workers!), the cold buffet is rich, several drinks including espresso. Twice I was in the dining room on a weekday after breakfast and craftsmen appeared, but no one ever threw me out and let me finish my coffee in peace. (Third :) The best room for me so far was the attic apartment with a double bed, kitchenette and sofa. Then I stayed in a standard double room, which was no longer as comfortable, the instant pot was stuck in a drawer (I discovered this later) and no tea or coffee. The blinds were slightly cracked and didn’t seal at all, which was not good in summer, but the air conditioning made up for it. You don’t have to worry about noise, the street is quiet, even though there’s a pub across. On the room every guest always has two bottles of gel/shampoo (I even managed with my dry skin) and two towels. A receipt for payment is a given, even if you don’t need it. Overall, a very nice place and I’ll gladly return. I hope to stay in that apartment again. :)

The breakfast was quite good, with both cold and hot options served. The location was excellent, and the service staff were very attentive. The only flaw was that they used hand soap instead of shower gel or shampoo.

The property is located very centrally and close to the city center and old town. The parking is a great perk. The room was spacious, very clean and very comfortable. The staff was nice enough. I paid over 200 EUR for two people for one night. This is quite expensive for this type of hotel and for the town - I paid less for a 4 star hotel elsewhere in Czechia. For this price, I would expect at least a coffee/tea in the room, but whatever. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The buffet consisted on bread and two types of bread rolls, butter, some jams/nutella, two types of cheese and ham. There were some yoghurts and cereals. The rest of the food had to be ordered - and the choice was mediocre. Only one vegetarian option (omelette with cheese, delicious though!) - the rest is all with ham/bacon. The worst - absolutely no vegetables! Not even tomato or cucumber. For people who prefer a sweet breakfast, the only option was bread with jam or nutella - no pastries or cakes. Very poor. The coffee has to be ordered as well, there is no machine, to make the coffee. I prefer fully self-service buffets, otherwise I feel like I am disturbing the staff who is usually very busy in the morning. I would also expect better toiletries for this price. The tiny bottles of shower gel/shampoo are not convenient and are definitely not a sustainable and ecological choice. Why not putting a soap dispenser next to the sink and another one for the shower gel and shampoo in the shower? Next time, I will chose a place which is more environmentally conscious
