I love how cheap and clean the place is, and the spot is great. The only downside was the bed—it’s hard to get comfortable because I’m hypermobile, and the only fix would be a recliner. It’s not the hotel’s fault, just a body limitation.

“Comfortable but service was not good”

The location is solid, the rooms are clean, and the bed is comfy. Housekeeping didn’t speak English, which was annoying when I tried to ask for something. The TV remote was dead, so after texting about it, they sent me to another empty room to borrow a remote. There was no hanger to request service, so I had to write on a paper towel and hang it out.

“A convenient and lovely early fall stay close to our class at The Clearing”

The new mattresses this year were incredibly comfy, and the room’s temperature controls let me cool it down before sleep and warm it up quickly in the morning. The only drawback was the bathroom layout: the sink and mirror are outside the tub and toilet, which feels cramped compared to newer designs. The microwave and fridge in the room were nice touches.

“Great, quiet location to explore Door County”

The staff were amazing—when I needed an iron, they bought one and delivered it. The spot is perfect, and the smaller, quieter property feels nice. Being on the ground floor was super convenient. The downside was the room’s sink area: the microwave, HVAC, and closet looked worn, had holes in the wall, and the paint was faded. The countertop could use an update, and a touch‑up of paint and a deep clean would help. There was a faint musty smell from the back wall, and the bathroom could use a towel rack so guests can hang clean clothes while showering instead of on the toilet.
