The dorms are very clean, super quiet and sunny, and you can keep your privacy; the spaces feel cozy and you almost feel at home. The showers were a bit tricky when trying to turn on hot water.

The room matched the description, the location was great with most major attractions within walking distance, and public transport was convenient. We felt safe thanks to the building’s phone‑based access system, and the washing machine and vending machine were handy. My wife and I booked a private room with a bathroom at Casa Nido Diagonal for about $250 per night—roughly hotel prices—and expected a better experience, but it didn’t live up to it. The place is somewhere between a hostel and a hotel but doesn’t deliver either set of benefits. There’s no on‑site staff or front desk, and all communication goes through messages. When we had Wi‑Fi issues, the team asked for screenshots but couldn’t fully fix it, suggesting we use the common‑area Wi‑Fi instead. With no staff on site, even simple requests for extra pillows or room assistance were inconvenient. Extra charges were especially disappointing given the premium rate: extra towels cost €7.50, cleaning only occurs every three days, and if you request cleaning it costs €15. This level of service felt more like a basic hostel than what we paid for. The extra charges were not communicated upfront; they were mentioned in chat when I asked for services, meaning you have to use the same towel for three days before it’s replaced. We also had several maintenance and comfort problems: one of the two towels had yellow stains, which the cleaning staff replaced when I raised the issue; the kettle had white particles, so I had to heat water in the microwave; the private bathroom had an unpleasant sewage smell, and street noise was significant enough to disturb our sleep. While the central location naturally brings some noise, the street noise here is excessive (light sleepers beware); better‑insulated windows or complimentary earplugs would have helped. The lack of on‑site staff made it hard to resolve these issues promptly.

The best hostel I've ever stayed at! The facilities are impeccable, the wardrobe is perfect, and my carry‑on fits under the bed. The room is huge, the bathroom is also big, and the location is spot‑on. The staff were very friendly and even offered a wardrobe in the common area to store my luggage after check‑out. I found the mattress a little firm for my taste, but that’s very personal. The entry system is a bit of a treasure hunt: after filling in the check‑in details, you receive a link on arrival with access codes for the street door, apartment door, and room door. It takes a bit to get used to, but it works.

It was my first time staying in a hostel, so I was a bit nervous, but having lived in Barcelona before, I chose Casa Nido because of its excellent location and ended up pleasantly surprised. I really liked the rooms, the cleanliness of the room, the bathroom and the common areas. The environment was also calm and quiet, which allowed me to sleep very well. I also enjoyed the hostel’s vibe because I made friends with nice people. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Casa Nido!
