The surroundings were calm, the building historic and the rooms smartly furnished, with air‑conditioning and a friendly host who was very helpful. Parking was available right in front of the house, and the French breakfast was lovely with croissants and homemade jam. Unfortunately, the windows on the roof didn’t let you look out, and the fitted sheets were too small for the mattresses, so they fell off every time the bed was used.
