The whole experience was great. The reception staff were very welcoming. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with staff constantly checking everything, refilling items, and removing used dishes—everything was wonderful.

The accommodation was very comfortable in a lovely retro setting. The staff were incredibly service‑oriented.

The room was spacious with a sofa, sink, and toilet. The outdoor area had a table and chairs. Clearly an old‑school hotel that has been modernised. I had previously written to inform them that we were vegans and asked if they could provide vegan options (on the island I stayed in four other hotels and they all said “sure, no problem”). Their reply was “We don’t have vegan options at breakfast. You can have some gluten‑free bread and there are some vegetables at the breakfast buffet.” I find it at least ridiculous to suggest gluten‑free as an alternative for a vegan, and I wonder if the person responding is aware that their buffet already includes bread, margarine, jam, cereals, oat drink, and fruit. That said, the food quality was decidedly lower than at the other hotels we stayed at on Bornholm.

The room was a good size and we received an allergy‑friendly room as requested. The bed was good. The staff were welcoming both at reception and in the restaurant, and they were super quick to respond here. Breakfast was decent enough. The price for the dinner buffet was absurd compared to both the selection and the taste experience. 350 kroner without drinks makes no sense (40kr for a 25 cl cola?). Additionally, the hotel was mostly German guests who apparently have no manners—skipping the line at the buffet, etc.—but that’s not the hotel’s fault; it happens everywhere. The price of the food is decisive, and that’s why we unfortunately won’t return.
