“J'ai fui”
I thought this would be our most unusual stop, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. We drove more than 5 hours through the desert and arrived at 15:30; I had to insist that someone open the doors. A gruff man who seemed annoyed by us left us at the doorstep and told me the check‑in was at 16:00, suggesting we could have a drink at the bar next door—though that bar is hard to find. After he shut the door in my face, I tried again and asked to see inside. He simply let me pass the building’s entrance and pointed from a distance at the door to our room, while a woman looked surprised to see us. The reception was very cold, with no place to relax while waiting for check‑in, so we left the property and was told I would not be refunded, which is what happened. If the reception had been warmer and offered a place to rest, we would have stayed.
“Ein aussergewöhnlicher Übernachtungsplatz / Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis”
Patrick, the Belgian owner who speaks Swiss German without an accent, greeted us warmly. The Dahya cave room is tastefully decorated and offers an extraordinary sleeping experience. The beds were very comfortable and the equipment modern and functional. Patrick’s wife, Sabrine, is an outstanding cook; dinner and breakfast were plentiful and delicious. Special dietary requests are accommodated, and the wine list with selected bottles leaves no desire unmet. We would definitely stay with Patrick and Sabrine again and recommend this place without reservation.
“Great Food, Not So Great Everything Else”
This place really knows how to do dinner and breakfast right. The food was top-notch, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. It's a shame that the rest of the experience didn't quite live up to the same standards.
“Allez-y, c’est un séjour que vous porterez dans vos meilleurs souvenirs 😉”
From the warm welcome to the delicious food, the quality of the bedding, and the overall conviviality and hospitality—everything was excellent.
“A Hidden Gem with a Few Flaws”
This small family-run hotel was a real gem, with a great host who made us feel right at home. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely fantastic, and we were blown away by the quality of the food. The only downside was that our room was a bit uncomfortable and chilly, but overall we had a great stay.
