The staff were friendly and professional, the spa was great, the view was nice, everything was clean, the location was good, and the restaurant food was decent. It felt a bit retro though.

Located 1 km from central Heinola, Hotel Kumpeli Spa overlooks the River Kymi, offering rooms with private balconies or patios and river or park views. The hotel features a spa, relax area, restaurant with Finnish and international cuisine, and a fitness centre with exercise machines and flat-screen TVs. A river-view terrace, swimming pools, hot tub, and several saunas are also available.

The room was spotless with a great view of the lake, the spa had a tunnel vibe and looked beautiful, the saunas and lounge were lovely, the restaurant was good and the staff were friendly, and breakfast was generous. The building is aging and has seen better days, but some renovations have been done and we had a fantastic time.
