The husband and wife team that own and operate Yamayasanso were amazing—so sweet and caring, they made our stay very special. The location was fantastic for reaching the mountain. The bed was a little thin, but the on‑site onsen bath fixed that at the end of the day. I could see the shared shower and bathroom situation might be problematic during peak season when the place is fully booked, but it wasn’t an issue for us in mid‑March.

The breakfast options were spot on, offering both set menus and a few self‑serve items. The ski slopes are just a five‑minute walk away, and I’ll definitely book another stay when I return.

“Great accommodation close to the lifts!”

The place is only a five‑minute stroll to the main gondola, giving it a snug, Japanese bed‑and‑breakfast vibe. The rooms are plain but the sleeping mats are comfy. Shared bathrooms are plentiful, and there’s a lovely Japanese‑style bath on the ground floor. We enjoyed a varied Japanese breakfast each morning, and the hosts were fantastic—so helpful and friendly they even escorted us to the train station when we left a bag behind.

This was my second visit! The owner couple were very friendly and suggested booking dinner while skiing, which turned out delicious. The room was cozy and slept well, and the walk to the Langkankylä gondola station takes only a few minutes—highly recommended.

“Perfect stay, home away from home.”

The spot is less than a five‑minute walk from the gondola, and the town is about eight minutes away. The couple running the apartment are the friendliest I’ve met. We woke up late the first morning, and the auntie nudged us for breakfast; their hearty dishes felt like home. The only wish: a hair dryer in the room would be nice.
