“Breathtaking! You need to stay here!”

We were searching for a place close to the Masai Mara Reserve that wasn’t too pricey. We know many people in the travel industry, and no one could tell us about Mara Hilltop, so I was nervous about booking here. But all I can say is “WOW, what a find!”. The tent design is great, especially the bathrooms. The restaurant, bar, and pool areas are excellent. The real highlight is the rooftop – sitting up there with a drink and watching the sunset is beautiful. The owner (and his dog) and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. I can’t rate this place higher, and I hope to return soon. A word of warning, though – it can get very windy at night, and it sounds like the tent might blow away. For me, it was all part of the wonderful experience, but it could be a bit daunting for some. Nothing else to add.

We had an absolutely fantastic time. The team ensured we had an unforgettable experience. We arranged everything through Mara Hilltop, including one evening game drive in a nearby conservancy, two full days of game drives in the Masai Mara, and a visit to a Maasai village. Everything was organized perfectly, including packed breakfasts and lunches for the early starts. Our safari guide Tim went above and beyond. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five, witnessed an incredible lion sighting, and had two amazing opportunities to watch the Great Migration from incredibly close range, with views that were better than those of almost every other vehicle around us. He truly made our safari unforgettable. We definitely recommend arranging your game drives directly with Mara Hilltop, who work with experienced Masai guides. As for accommodation, the spacious tent overlooking the savannah was perfect. The truth is that photos on Booking do not do justice to how great the place is. It was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and felt like home from the moment we arrived. The bathroom was very modern and clean. We also had a lovely private patio where we could sit in the evening, enjoy the view and watch the stars. The food at the lodge was also very good, with a great breakfast, generous packed lunches, and buffet dinners. We also made use of the hotel’s beautiful swimming pool overlooking the savannah, as well as the rooftop for breathtaking sunset views over cocktails. Special mention must also go to Reggie who helped us organize everything smoothly, Lucy who made sure we were always full with delicious meals, Timothy who drove us safely from and to Nairobi where traffic seemed lethal, and Steve who made sure we were always safe walking around Mara Hilltop late at night. We couldn’t recommend Mara Hilltop more. We would happily come back. Thanks again to the wonderful Mara Hilltop team for making our stay so comfortable and fun.

Everything was perfect about this property. From the location to the food to the amenities to the staff, everything was perfect! They’ve arranged all the pick ups, the game drives and the drop offs, and we couldn’t be happier with the locals we have met through them. We loved everything about this property. No notes!

We had an unforgettable stay at Mara Hilltop! The setting is stunning, and we were genuinely impressed by how thoughtfully and eco‑friendly everything is designed. The beds were super comfortable, but I was even more blown away by the outdoor bathroom behind the tent—such a fantastic feature. You can really tell that every detail was thought through by someone who loves traveling and understands what makes a stay special. On top of that, the staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming throughout. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!

“非常不错的体验”

Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, the tent looked beautiful, and the service was warm and attentive; I had to leave early for the park and the restaurant staff had already prepared my breakfast, and every employee I met was very friendly. It would have been more convenient if there had been a chance to use a hair dryer.
