“Molto bello. Una bella esperienza”
The location and the building itself are very distinctive. The separate shower behind the bed is convenient and unique, and the place is quiet. However, the humidity in the room was too high, and the original stone wall was left untreated; the moisture caused material to fall off the stones onto the floor and our luggage.
“Da ripetere”
We visit Siracusa every year, and choosing to stay outside Ortigia proved to be a win because from the hotel we could walk to Ortigia, the catacombs, the Paolo Orsi museum, the San Giovanni church, and the Greek theatre, without the parking and noise issues we had in previous years inside Ortigia. Next year we’ll confirm the choice, especially because the room was stunning and we really liked the romantic, quiet terrace.
The room was clean, but the air conditioning was a problem, especially in the bathroom. I asked for the temperature to be raised, but nothing changed. The two sinks were awkward and lacked a place to rest my hand.
“het lijkt heel wat maar het is een met legionella besmette locatie waar ook booking iets mee zou moe”
What was supposed to be breakfast turned out to be a handful of cookies and coffee cups that weren’t even always available. We were there on 19 and 20 June, there was a sewage smell and it wasn’t fresh. Today is 2‑7‑2025 and I’m still in a Dutch hospital with a double pneumonia caused by legionella. I’ve already sent two emails to stop more people from dying or becoming seriously ill. It could have gone terribly wrong, and fortunately the incubation period ended five days later when we returned to the Netherlands. Truly awful, playing with people’s health.
Exceptional, the room was beautiful, enhanced by a unique and refined style and the bed was very comfortable. The property is next to the church that hosts a Caravaggio painting, simply amazing, and the Santa Lucia catacombs, both reachable in less than a minute on foot. Must‑do experiences.
