“Historic, bijou and absolutely mesmerising you must stay here at least once,”
We love historic buildings, and this chateau lived up to that love; parts of the structure date back to 1200 and have only been lightly restored, giving it the feel of a family home more than a hotel. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a charming eclectic style, and there’s a kitchen area for guests to use. We even enjoyed a log fire in the evening. Unfortunately, we couldn’t meet the owners, which would have been great to learn about their vision for the chateau, but Karin went out of her way to greet us and give us a guided tour of the grounds. The only downside was that the chateau has just one bathroom, though that added to the charm for us. Our car satnav couldn’t locate the chateau, but we managed with Google Maps.
