Hotel Andes Urubamba

An awesome little hotel in the center of Urubamba. The staff were very responsive and helpful, assisting us with planning before arrival via email and on site. We were basically the only guests in the hotel during our visit, so we even had a personalized breakfast cooked just for us. Everything was perfect, except for a brief electricity cut (about 30 minutes, affecting the whole block) and hot water in the shower sometimes being hard to get (waiting a few minutes usually solved it). I think these are inherent to Urubamba / the Sacred Valley in general.

The rooms were spacious and the staff friendly, but the decor felt sparse and sterile, and the lighting was too harsh.

Compared to the bustle of Cusco, staying here for two or three days was the right choice; we enjoyed the brief quiet and leisure, and it was one of the best nights of sleep during our Cusco trip. The hotel’s location is good, and before and after the itinerary we walked nearby to experience local life. Breakfast was thoughtful, using local ingredients like fresh cheese, coffee, and fruit in generous portions. The food was tasty and the overall environment clean. Front‑desk staff were all‑capable, arranging our itinerary and transportation.

“Gio”

The building is nice and modern, and the rooms are pretty. The staff is kind. Breakfast wasn’t a buffet but served at a table with no choice; basically bread and a few slices of cheese for those who don’t eat eggs, finished with a small bowl of fruit.
