A magical refuge with history in the heart of the Val d’Aran. The hotel itself stands out by keeping the mountain cabin architecture and atmosphere alive. Even though we stayed only one night, the experience at Hotel Eth Solan left an indelible mark on us. It’s truly magical, absolutely tranquil, and wrapped in that special historic atmosphere that makes you disconnect from the moment you arrive. The shower enclosure is very narrow.

I was disappointed by the cramped room and the tiny bed; the noise from the road to France was constant, with heavy traffic all day, and there was no air conditioning, making the heat unbearable inside the room—better to sit in the hallway.

The spa and the location were good, but the room didn’t match the description; we were given a smaller room than the one advertised.

What impressed me most was the chance to use the spa individually, with a well‑kept, quiet, relaxing space that offered total privacy, making it a truly special experience and a real differentiator that added comfort, exclusivity, and personal well‑being. The downside is that the elevator access to the rooms isn’t level and requires climbing stairs; however, the hotel provides an alternative entrance through the lounge that lets guests reach the elevator without steps. I mention this especially for people with disabilities or limited mobility, or travelers with heavy luggage, as it would be helpful to clearly signal this option (although the reception staff informs you immediately) and make it easier from the start or redesign the reception layout—though that’s a bigger issue.
