This old coaching inn was charming, with staff who were very friendly and went out of their way to make our visit special; the bedrooms were comfortable and roomy and the food was excellent. The only downside was that there was no disabled room on the ground floor because the hotel has no lift.

Service, staff, location, and beer were all excellent. The room was a bit small for two adults and three small dogs, but we managed.

A warm welcome greeted you at the hotel, the staff were wonderful, and the bar offered a Happy Hour; free parking was available if you registered your vehicle. The rooms were great, and although I skipped breakfast to eat in town, the bed was warm and comfortable. The only drawback was that the carpet in the rooms was threadbare, which let down a recent refurbishment. Apart from that, it was a great stay.
