“Un hôtel top pour visiter 798”
I hadn't stayed here since 2019, though I used to visit often before COVID, so I was a bit nervous; the hotel has changed since its opening but is still pretty well maintained, and it’s a great spot for those who want to spend time in the 798 art district, though it can feel a bit far from central Beijing for others. Note that a new metro line opens right outside 798, which isn’t always highlighted (the corresponding line also wasn’t on my guides). You can reach downtown by metro, it takes a little while but works. The hotel is also near one of Beijing’s two airports (PEK). We tried to find out how breakfast worked and gave up because it seemed too complicated; from what I gathered, you had to specify the time you wanted breakfast for the entire stay. The staff were friendly but could use better training. We had trouble having our passports photographed at check‑in, and during check‑out I couldn’t tell what the front‑desk man was doing behind his screen, which took a while.
