The apartment was spacious and spotless, and the mountain setting was lovely. Unfortunately, the owner came across as arrogant and hostile, refusing to replace a coffee cup that a fly had landed in and insisting that other cups were “private.” Breakfast was a nightmare: options were limited, flies buzzed over the buffet, and the host kept a close eye on us, counting our bites and tracking every trip to the table. She had initially promised I could charge my electric car, but later lied that the charging station was broken. The water in the bathroom and tub was filthy, with large debris floating in it.
