Holiday Inn Express Newport by IHG

I keep being wowed by the luxurious vibe at HIE; the pool temperature was spot‑on and the hot tub was hot just as it should be. We were upgraded to a huge King Suite for our five‑day stay. Breakfast offered a wide range of proteins and fruits, and the place was impeccably clean. The food items for purchase were spot‑on, and the location was amazing. It was all good or great!

“Pool was kids' highlight. Comfortable, clean, and friendly.”

The beds were comfy, the bathrooms spotless, and the staff were friendly. Because the hotel is outside the central business area, we had to drive a bit to find a place to eat. The kids loved the pool, and breakfast had something for everyone. There wasn’t much choice for food within walking distance.

“Good not Great”

I stayed here again after nearly a decade and was thrilled to see the place still clean and the staff as kind as before, but the room cleaning could use tweaks. The carpets in my room were wet when we checked in; I took my shoes off and my socks got soaked, making the first night uncomfortable. The room was humid and the cleaner’s scent irritated my breathing. We asked the front desk what could be done and received a fan to air out the room. The staff were friendly, but I was surprised that nothing was done to dry the carpet before our arrival.

Breakfast was good, the location was amazing, and the staff were friendly, though the TV was a bit hard to operate.

The location was very nice, the place was clean and comfortable, and the staff were great and welcoming, helping us a lot. We especially want to thank Brooke at check‑in and guest support for doing a fantastic job!
