During the hot summer days they provided a hydration drink in the lobby for heat‑stroke prevention, which was a lifesaver and easy to help yourself to. However, the staff at reception spoke rather softly, making it hard to hear, and the bath temperature had to be adjusted manually; after I thought it was perfect and let it fill, it became too hot to use, forcing me to add cold water and start over, which was a hassle. You really need to watch the water temperature because a small tweak can cause a big change.
The front‑desk staff were very friendly and spoke Spanish. The hotel is beautiful.

I’d especially suggest dining at the hotel’s restaurant – the chef is simply amazing, and the meals are a real treat! I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone heading to Kyoto, and I’d stay here again if I get the chance. On the downside, the breakfast could use a bit more kid‑friendly options, but overall it was fine.
