“Unfortunately we won’t be recommending this place.”

Very friendly little pub, nice cosy but modern room, only about 10 minutes from Scarborough. We were disappointed by the food and staff, unfortunately. The pictures online had made us excited, but the fish we received seemed stale and low quality, and the burrito was clearly microwave rice, not the standard we expected. Breakfast was included; the continental spread was very limited—just a few cereals, apple or fresh orange juice, tea or coffee, and a handful of small tubs of yoghurt. Both of us had the full English breakfast and again felt let down by the quality and presentation. The staff seemed reluctant to be there and weren’t very approachable. Because of that, we won’t book again.

“Excellent stay with friendly staff.”

This is our second stay. The hotel sits nicely between Filey and Scarborough. One flight of stairs up to the twin room. Even though the room faced the main road, the noise was manageable. Storage was excellent, and the room had a fan and heaters. The toiletries were lovely, the walk‑in shower was nice, and the towels were top quality. Lighting in the rooms was great, and the night light in the bathroom was very handy. The room also had tea, coffee, biscuits, and a fridge. Evening meals were good value and delicious. Plenty of parking at the rear of the building. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing we didn’t like.
