“Would probably NEVER go back to Martha’s Vineyard because of this experience”
Breakfast was horrible; coffee was SO weak, it looked like dishwater with cream in it!! Scrambled eggs looked like powdered eggs, floating in a bowl of liquid. No breakfast meats either day- just giant red potatoes. No bagels or bread to toast. Muffins tasted like something from the freezer- definitely NOT freshly made. Cut fruit and granola were the only edible things. From the minute we arrived, there was NO service. We’ve been to lots of inns, B&B’s. The people are always happy, friendly. Not here! They never offered to help with our bags, even when we found out we were in the third house, up 13 stairs….I’m still astounded that they get great ratings. There were things saying near beach, local buses available. Nothing said we were on a dirt/pine needle winding road through a forest for maybe a mile till we came to the main road. So we ending up renting a car for over $500 for 2 days, on top of the ridiculous price of the room. Before we left, my husband spoke to someone at the desk- not the innkeepers, whom we never saw at all. He told her about our experience and he was told the owner would call. That never happened. Still waiting. We would love some kind of refund; it was NOT a great experience at all…
