“An enjoyable stay in a well located, exceptionally clean and well staffed hotel.”
We have just returned from a 5 night stay. The Hilton is a large hotel a short walk into the town (a fairly steep hill may be an issue for some - Its a 15-20min walk to the train station, about 30mins to the boats). The hotel is spacious and immaculately clean, all staff we met were helpful and friendly. The breakfast is superb, pretty much all tastes catered for with a chef on hand to cook omelettes etc. Outside there is a collection of connected pools and plenty of sun-loungers available so no early morning rush required. Background music but not too loud thankfully - you can sit further away if you want to be quieter. There is a nice restaurant in the gardens that we tried one evening which was reasonably priced. For the sporty there is a well equipped gym and 2 x Padel courts (40 euro per hour with bats/balls included). Drinks by the pool were 9 euro for a beer, 11 euro for a glass of wine. The roof top bar has fantastic views across the town and bay towards Vesuvius. The bedrooms were clean and spacious with a balcony and the housekeeping was spot-on. The orientation of the hotel which backs onto the cliff means the sun is gone from the pool area by late afternoon and does not appear to shine onto the room balconies at any point (mid September). I mentioned when booking it was for my daughters 30th birthday and she had a bottle of bubbly on ice in her room on arrival which was a nice touch by the hotel. The hotel has meeting and conference rooms and also holds functions for outside events. We did have to complain about the excessive noise one evening which went on to 01.00 from a room directly below our balconies. There was also a lot of noise from furniture being dragged around on the tiled floors at various times in the day. See previous note re sun not shining on the balconies. Only small grumbles - don't let these put you off staying here
