“Effort had been put into the garden and spa and impressed to see big bank of solar panels”
The spa and gardens were great, but the main house felt geared more toward large events and weddings.
The venue was stunning for a wedding, and there was nothing to complain about.
“תמורה לא מספקת למחיר”
The beautiful pool is the main advantage of the place, and breakfast was also good. There is no lift, and no one will lift luggage up the stairs to the second floor. The bathroom is a minimal basic hotel room, even lacking a shelf for personal items or a toilet seat that can be lifted and left up. Compared to other hotels of this type, the value for money is low.
“Very comfortable stay. Easy access to Chester.”
The location was good, the grounds lovely, and parking was excellent, yet the room was spotless but the bathroom was a bit outdated with peeling paint and a non‑working extractor fan; plus a hum from the kitchen could be heard starting around 6 am because the room was so close.
“No worthy of a 4* rating”
Apart from the welcome, there was nothing else worth mentioning. The room was fine but there was no printed guide to the room or hotel facilities, no phone numbers, the toilet flushing was poor, and access to the second floor was only by stairs. Breakfast was sparse—two halves of toast, two pats of butter, no milk for tea. The night before, our order of Beer Battered fish and chips was completely wrong, and there was no sign that the Butter Bowl with salmon was smoked salmon. We also ordered a pudding for dessert that never arrived before we left.
