Before our stay we told the owners that we could arrive earlier than the check‑in time. They said it wouldn’t be a problem, that we could leave our luggage and use the pool area. When we got there, the front door was locked. A few minutes later the owner opened the door. He was very grumpy, didn’t greet us with a smile and reluctantly told us we could leave our luggage. He then told us to keep quiet. There was no guest toilet in the lobby, so we left the hotel and waited for check‑in time. When we returned at check‑in, the owner and his wife were again very grumpy. The room we were given was on the basement floor. Later they said it was our choice, but we had booked for three people and were never offered a different room option. The room was very dark. The window near the ceiling wouldn’t close, so the AC didn’t work properly. The sheets were dirty and had hair on them. Also, the room had no mirror, TV or minibar, and there wasn’t even a bottle of water in the minibar. Because there was no mirror, we had to move the bathroom mirror into the room when needed and put it back after. For three days our room was never cleaned (maybe that’s the hotel’s cleaning policy). For those same three days, toilet paper was left on the floor in front of the door. Then we were warned not to move the mirror. We said it wasn’t a problem for us. Immediately after that, the owner’s wife was behind us talking about us, and she said that if we moved the mirror again, she would take it from us instead of telling us face‑to‑face. This attitude was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. During our five‑night stay our room was cleaned only once. After cleaning, all our clothes, electronics and cosmetics were put in the wardrobe without our permission. We especially wanted our belongings not touched.
