The bed was comfortable, and the hotel sits right next to the station, which is super convenient. We arrived at about 4 a.m., exhausted from our journey, picked up our keys, headed to the room, and fell asleep almost immediately. The next morning we realized our room was oddly small. After comparing our reservation details and the photos, we discovered we’d been given a single room even though we’d booked and paid for a double. We politely asked reception to fix the mistake or at least move us to the room we paid for for the rest of our stay. The staff member reacted shockingly: instead of apologizing or helping, he became defensive, sarcastically asked why we hadn’t complained earlier, grew increasingly irritated when we explained the 4 a.m. arrival and fatigue, and told us we could cancel and leave if we didn’t like it. He kept insisting we leave, claiming nothing could be done. Because our booking was non‑refundable, leaving would have meant losing the money already paid, and finding another hotel on such short notice was impossible since all were booked. We had no realistic alternative but to stay. We stopped the conversation when the staff member refused to listen or discuss solutions. We weren’t asking for special treatment, just the room we paid for or an attempt to correct the error. Getting the wrong room is disappointing, but being treated with sarcasm, hostility, and total disrespect when we raised the issue is far worse.

The hotel is easily located near most things in town.

The staff were always very friendly and accommodating. The room itself did its job. The location was very good for our plans. The bathroom was worth mentioning – it was really fine. Breakfast was okay, not typical English, just a cold buffet. The narrow staircase up to the top with luggage is luckily only used once, but walking up every day is a decent workout without an elevator. The room, with the double bed and small side table, is completely full, making it impossible to fit even the smallest wardrobe. In the double bed only one blanket was provided (though it’s wide), which was unusual for us and caused a blanket war.

Location is good, a few minutes walk to Kings Cross station. Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast have a good choice. The room was tiny but had the facilities needed. The shower in particular was very small, I could hardly move in it
