The historic hotel was fully restored and the location was fantastic; we enjoyed a glass of wine on the terrace at sunset, which we had already savored at the nearby restaurant where we dined at night. The parking seems to be included in the price, but because the restaurant is closed, you’re forced to leave the car and most nearby restaurants are already full, so having a car is a relief.

The lakeside location is fantastic—you can hop in your flip‑flops and wade straight into the water or stroll to the little park next to the hotel. Breakfast over the water is a unique treat, and the sunset from the roof terrace is spectacular. The historic décor is lovely, but be aware the double bed is only about 130 cm wide.

Stunning lake views from the room, terrace, and breakfast room, plus the convenience of being close to the Rigi train stop and dock. The breakfast is thoughtfully prepared and plentiful. The downside is the early‑morning noise from the nearby train depot, though the staff are so friendly it’s easy to overlook.
