La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lake George

The spot is great, but the rooms weren't clean—fans in the bathroom were dusty and our family’s rooms felt a bit dirty.

“This would have been a 4-5 star across the board if not for the kids being disappointed by the closing of the pool.”

There were several positives: the hotel was set back from the busy road, our rooms were good size and clean, and there was a playground and a tiny arcade; it was also close to outlets, restaurants, and activities. I booked several rooms for a family vacation specifically for the pool, which had a big pool and a water slide that my grandkids loved. After exploring the area the first day, we returned and the kids enjoyed the pool, but the second day we woke early to let them play and the pool was closed by the department of health; it stayed closed for the rest of our stay. It was a bit pricey, and that was the main reason we chose it for the grandkids aged 4-15. I mentioned the issue at checkout and asked for a discount, but the manager wasn’t there.

The place feels fresh with a large space and bathroom, and checking in and out was easy; coffee and tea were always available, but the proximity to an interstate highway meant I kept hearing trucks while trying to sleep, and there was some lobby noise as well.

“Nice place to stay. Beds are very comfortable”

Love the location, but the floors were filthy: carpets in front of my room needed vacuuming, corners hadn't been vacuumed in ages, and the bathroom floor had debris that hadn't been swept or mopped; I left a note on the envelope about the floor, yet nothing was cleaned.
