The room wasn’t clean and I wasn’t happy with the comfort; there were a lot of mosquitoes and the fan wasn’t working properly.

Only one part of the balcony lacks a safety railing.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, the owner was friendly, the garden was nice, and there was a kitchen available with laundry facilities. However, part of the building is still under construction, so there’s no railing on a section of the corridor, which is dangerous for small children, and it’s close to a stagnant pond that attracts mosquitoes.

My wife and I weren’t put in Quench Inn as we’d booked, but we were instead accommodated at a nearby Kalupahana Rest where the staff and owner were very polite and helpful. Even though we didn’t stay at Quench Inn, the owner didn’t let us down and arranged the alternative location for us.

It was just a layover night on the way to Gal Oya. The price paid on site was higher than listed because “air conditioning is included.” There was no fridge, blanket or towels in the room, so you have to ask for them.
