“Accueil déplorable”
Nothing positive. The manager’s welcome was icy, with no look or word, the first time in a month in the Philippines. For 20 euros a night in a tent, it’s a scandal that there’s no potable water for an “eco” resort; there’s nothing ecological here except the fact that you’re not in town to buy 50‑peso plastic bottles (about 30 in any store). So, we’re in Port Barton but stop treating people like ham. The excuse was that they couldn’t provide water bottles for sanitary reasons, yet everywhere else there’s free filtered water, even in the most remote canteen. The next day I asked to heat a water bottle from my own, and they agreed only if I bought a bottle (“you understand, otherwise all clients will do the same”). We switched to city accommodation, 12 euros a night with unlimited coffee and water and an amazing welcome. So, steer clear. PS: sleeping in a tent was fine, but no power extension meant no fan, and the heat was brutal.
