The staff were incredibly welcoming.
The room was simply furnished but clean.
The room had charm and the smell of a party cellar. I would only have climbed into the shower with a bathrobe. The beds were catastrophic, either sagging or far too soft.
“Das Hotel eher meiden, wer Komfort sucht!”
The hotel had no breakfast even though one was booked, yet I was still charged the full price. The lights didn’t work, the towels were old and worn, there was no Wi‑Fi code, and there were almost no parking spaces.
“terrible”
I asked to check in at 5 pm, which they agreed to, but when I got there after a long drive on the hottest day of the year the hotel was closed and none of the phone numbers answered except the booking app, where I was told I’d have to wait three hours until after 8 pm to be let in. Two other guests were waiting outside for their invoice and were told the same thing. They keep 50 percent of your payment if you cancel, so I expect this happens regularly. I gave up and found a real hotel, sacrificing half my payment; the building looked run down and dirty.
