Eldon was a friendly face, which was the highlight of our visit. The bed felt comfortable and the shower worked well, and the room stayed clean. Parking proved stressful because you have to reverse onto a drive that sits at the top of a hill on a bend on a main route into Keswick; you’re also expected to leave your car keys in the room so Eldon can move your car, as parking operates on a “block in” system. Breakfast was just okay, and there were no decaffeinated drink options in the room. I only learned on the day of arrival that I had to pay cash, which was inconvenient. The laminated instructions scattered throughout the hallway and room added to the check‑in stress. Overall, I would not stay here again.
Limpio y ordenado. No sabíamos que no habría nadie en recepción. Tuvimos que hacer llamada internacional para contactar con el dueño y conseguir las llaves
“Great location and host.”
The booking was very last minute, but Eldon was great and supplied a lot of useful information, even though I forgot it from the time of leaving my house to arriving. It was totally on me and I can’t fault him; I admire his patience 🤣. I forgot everything!! 🙈 Nothing wrong with Craglands.
“Memorable for the wrong reasons”
The view was lovely. The payment system was odd, involving another platform even though we had already paid. Parking was tough – a blind bend that required reversing in. A group of us tried to get into the guest house but had to call the host for the access code for our room keys; we even helped an elderly guest who had no phone and thus no way to receive his code. We booked a double bed but arrived with two single beds; the host explained that you push the two beds together to make a double, which was not ideal. The room was cold with no heating. I would not recommend it.
All excellent. N/A
