The staff were adorable. The setting was bucolic. The apartment was in a renovated vacation house, all comfortable. The restaurant was closed! And the only place still open was a bar. No taxi.

The attached restaurant offered a good breakfast buffet with a wide and ample selection. The houses sit on a very hilly, partly steep terrain, which was known beforehand. The facilities were as expected, and the partial renovations on the upper floor were well executed. Some minor kitchen repairs could have been done earlier; these issues weren’t new since the rooms were first rented out. There was no lighting at the parking lot.

The stunning scenery and excellent food bring us joy every year. Breakfast starts gratefully at 7:00, which we appreciate, and dinner is always sensational. Insect screens in the bedrooms would be useful; since the apartments are near the lake, insects are common and we’d like to sleep with the windows open, so please install screens.

The location by Herrensee is dreamy. The village inn nearby cooks very well, and the room rate includes access to the beach club. The rooms have modern bathrooms and toilets, but the other rooms feel a bit worn and the beds are not very comfortable.
