“Good old hostel (...entrance big and shabby) but with rooms pretty decent and worth your money”
The bed was surprisingly comfortable and I ended up having the whole shared dorm to myself, which was a nice surprise. The curtains could use a proper fix – they’re a bit shabby – but the staff member who helped me was friendly and quick to respond. The place is close to the city centre, though I chose a sixth‑floor room with no lift; the stairs were actually easier than some other hostels’ fourth floor, and the only nuisance was a few mosquitoes that the host gave me an electric zapper for.
I was impressed by how clean and odor‑free the room was, with soft bedding and great soundproofing that let me sleep through the night. The front desk team were warm and handled check‑in smoothly, answering any request promptly, and the spot is conveniently placed for the price. I’d definitely book here again.
The host was welcoming and spoke enough English to give useful tips, plus the on‑site scooter rental was very cheap. My room was spacious, clean, and offered a partial view of the surrounding scenery. The downside was an old‑looking mattress and dated furniture that could use an upgrade.
The hostel scores high on price, location and the staff’s attitude – they’re all solid. Finding it, however, is a pain; it’s not listed on Google Maps and the name on Amap is slightly different, so you end up hunting around behind a couple of other hotels. Once you locate it, the stay itself is fine.
The place is riddled with black mold and looks abandoned – it’s a health hazard and the cleanliness is downright disgusting. Management didn’t help with my luggage on the fourth floor and even made a snide comment about its weight, while the e‑scooter I rented had almost no brakes, nearly causing an accident. There’s no door card for the entrance and you can’t lock the room, which is completely irresponsible. After asking for an upgrade I was told to leave, so I’d steer clear of this hostel.
