“De evitar”
The location was good, but the breakfast was poor and offered no healthy or gluten‑free options, and the hotel was in a degraded state with no signs of maintenance care.

The Stay Hotel Faro Centro is 20 metres from Santo António Street and 200 meters from Manuel Bivar Garden and Faro Marina. The hotel features a bar, free WiFi, simply-furnished rooms with carpet flooring and work desks, and some with bath tubs. A rich buffet-style breakfast is served, and the historical centre with its cathedral is a 5-minute walk away.

The room was very small but had everything I needed, and being on the back of the building made it nice and quiet. The mattress didn’t stay fixed on the bed frame; it kept coming off when I tossed and turned.

The location was great in the old town, with restaurants at your doorstep and a quick walk to the marina. The single lift was jumpy and noisy, and I couldn’t find a phone number in the lifeline case for emergencies. The room I stayed in had no phone, which isn’t ideal if you need to call reception at night. The room could use a deep clean—the bathroom walls had water marks. Ventilation was great.

The hotel’s placement is very convenient, close to all Faro go‑to places. Rooms vary: if you get one facing the road it feels more spacious, but a room facing the inner side is awkward and cramped.
