“Overnight stay close to golf course”

The location is good, parking is easy, the space is ample, it’s close to the golf club, and the host is friendly. The sofa was not comfortable – very saggy.

The environment is nice and indeed pretty. The hygiene felt lacking; the balcony on the second floor and the public areas seemed unclean. Also, the booking description said we could use the kitchen and washing machine, but when we arrived we learned that only the detached building had those facilities.

I love the layout, colours and architecture – a real southern belle. The bathroom/toilet window is very transparent; a bush in front of it might help, and the shower door doesn’t close securely – it just needs a new magnet trim to hold it closed.

“The property was obviously originally built but maintenance and updating not done for too long”

The original buildings are nicely designed and constructed… still appealing from the outside. Overall for the price you pay, it’s not too bad considering Wānaka has become an expensive area. The property and gardens haven’t been maintained – there is so much potential! The furniture is well past its use by date, heavily scratched and varnish peeling in places, as is the staircase. The Lounge sagged in the middle and hurt your back, and the bed was not comfortable either. The blinds are grubby, many are frayed on the edges, and they all had stains. The towels also are well past their use by date, thin and scratchy.
