“For our purposes - to visit the elephant sanctuary - the Manel Guesthouse was a good choice.”
We only got bread, avocado and hot tea for breakfast because the staff were away for understandable reasons, but that was enough for us. The small night lamp’s battery wasn’t charged; having it charged next time would be helpful, though we managed without it.
The owner greeted us warmly and was very available; he even rode a scooter at night to pick me up from a restaurant because walking around the neighborhood with the dogs and a stick isn’t always advisable. He also had on‑site deals for renting a scooter or going on tours depending on what you want. There was always someone at the front desk to help, and the room had air‑conditioning and was quite clean.
I stayed in the double room with a queen‑size bed, and it was very clean and quiet. The location was convenient because it was near where I needed to be, and the price was very reasonable. The owner and his family were very nice and accommodating! Overall, it was a great place for the price, and I would definitely stay again.
