The staff and breakfast were great! The only downside was a major construction site next door, but since we were out and about during the day it didn’t bother us at all.

We had a lovely stay at Harper’s House – the location was perfect and the house itself is beautiful. Breakfasts were plentiful and the staff made everything hassle‑free. The only issue (which we didn’t bring up with the staff, so they had no chance to fix it) was that hot water in our room was a bit hit‑and‑miss. Not a big deal, but it would be even better if it were more reliable.

The staff were friendly, the library room was a nice spot for breakfast, and the bedroom was fairly spacious; however, the location wasn’t quite central enough to walk to the quieter area, breakfast started at 7:30 and didn’t accommodate guests who needed to leave early for hikes, risking missing breakfast—opening at 7 would have sufficed; also, we had a huge construction site right in front, which was visually and noisily distracting, though that’s hard to predict; most notably, the shower took a long time to heat, sometimes only lukewarm, and the bathroom stayed cold because it wasn’t well insulated.
