The AC worked well, and the place was close enough to the beach to be convenient. The bungalows had solid seals on doors and windows, keeping insects, geckos, and other critters out. I did run into a few monkeys on the walkway; they were a bit aggressive and made getting past them a challenge.

The bungalows were very nice, and the resort itself was in good condition. We weren't really pool‑goers, but the view from the pool was so beautiful that we used it from time to time. The resort and pool area were also not crowded, which we liked a lot. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, there are monkeys at the pool that steal things. The beach is about an 8‑minute walk, which can be tiring in hot weather. Renting a scooter is advisable because there isn’t much to see or eat on foot.

The Birds Nests were well designed, clean, and comfortable both inside and out. Unfortunately, it rained heavily throughout our stay, so the large TV was more of a nuisance than a help. The balcony with a private bathtub was a sweet addition, and it was great that monkeys visited the hotel every evening, which made for good viewing. The rooms only had two tiny mirrors and no hooks for hanging wet towels. Because it was off‑season, the restaurant was closed and the breakfast we had to pay extra for was delivered to our room. We could only choose between Continental, American, and Thai options, and by the second day I was barely able to finish the breakfast. There was no proper table to sit comfortably, and there was no real reception desk; all questions were handled via WhatsApp. The responses were quick and helpful, even during heavy rain when lunch was taken to the room.
